The mission of the Friends of Silver Springs State Park is to provide support to the Park,
enhance public awareness and community involvement, and to protect Park resources.
We are a non-profit Citizen Support Organization comprised of individuals with diverse interests
but with a common thread … our love of the beautiful natural resources here at Silver Springs State Park.

We are bikers, boaters, paddlers, campers, equestrians, dog walkers, hikers, photographers,
bird watchers, and nature enthusiasts.  What brings us together is the recreational and
ecological value of one of Florida’s most beautiful State Parks, as well as our dedication to its preservation.
Our members contribute to the Park in a variety of ways:  We greet visitors in our
Welcome Center, patrol the river, assist with special Park and Silver River Museum events,
and help rangers with projects within the Park from mowing to gardening to painting to archiving.
