Our beloved Silver Springs, along with all the Florida State Parks, was a recent recipient of the National Recreation & Parks Association GOLD Medal Award for the best State Park System in the nation for an unprecedented 4th time!
The award recognizes Florida’s investment in protecting natural and cultural resources. Last year our 1,700 staff and 20,000 volunteers made sure 30 million visitors had safe, enjoyable experiences in well-maintained parks. Volunteers contributed more than one million hours of service. Friends’ groups spent almost $4.5 million to support and improve parks.
We are proud to be a part of this success and will continue to support our beautiful Silver Springs State Park.
Friends of Silver Springs State Park is a Citizen Support Organization (CSO), a non-profit volunteer organization, dedicated to preserving and enhancing Silver Springs State Park. We support Silver Springs State Park by providing volunteers, educating visitors, hosting events and raising funds for specific park projects.
